St Patrick’s Day History

St. Patrick’s Day occurs annually on March 17 in observance of the death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. What began as a religious feast day in the 17th century has evolved into a variety of festivals across the globe celebrating Irish culture with parades, special foods, music, dancing, and a whole lot of green.  Because our show falls on St. Patrick’s Day we thought it might be nice to give it an Irish Theme.
Did you know that Saint Patrick gets credit for driving all the snakes out of Ireland, and that Leprechauns earned that gold they’re guarding. According to legend, leprechauns spend their days making and mending shoes. It’s hard work, so you can’t blame them for being territorial about their pots of gold.
Come along and join in our Wodonga Show celebrations, talk a bit of the blarney, eat and be merry.  We welcome you all.
